I know this is something of a break in my standard posts; but I’m blogging enough about everything else in our life why not include everything we are doing to style and individualise our new house. What with our garden being redeveloped in the coming months and the house only being 18 months old there are lots of things we can do and making it into a ‘home’ is something you’ll probably see a lot more of.
There are always candles in our house. Big, small, tealights, scented candles all over the house, we even have a huge 3 foot pyramid candle in the garden. Mrs B even has her school pottery floating around the house as a couple of them are candle & tealight holders! They’re just a nice thing to have and if you get the right scent to suit your house and that are just subtle enough, they don’t overpower.
We found Melt Candles on our travels and decided to pick a couple up; both the same scent but for different rooms of the house. The scent for both candles are verbena & clary sage, which has simple light lavender tones mixed with the smell of woods and herbs. I like this a lot, you get a strong scent when you enter a room but it doesn’t fill your lungs and stifle you. Who thought candles came with instructions other than ‘don’t set yourself on fire’ but they do; I also found out it takes up to 36 hours to make candles as good and as high a quality as these ones!
Firstly a little travel candle (£7.50), which we use in the kitchen and a huge luxury glass jar candle (£21.00) that sits pride of place on the coffee table. These are both sturdy candles, the big one for example will last for 70 hours. The little travel one is cute, I’m not sure why you’d have a travel candle, but its perfect size for smaller rooms and for quick uses. This doesn’t leave our kitchen and hides all the cooking smells (good and bad) in our kitchen! When these have lived their waxy life we’ll be back online to pick some up, try some different scents!
I’ve also seen on their site that throughout August you can get 25% off all candles not already on offer by using code FlipFlop at the Melt Candles checkout.
As part of luv4fashion’s 2nd anniversary month, I’m running a few giveaways and I have one of the large scented Melt candles in a glass jar to giveaway. In order to enter and be in with a chance of winning just enter below! Good luck!
